What’s your summer lifestyle?
Do you like to camp? Is it your lifestyle in the summer months?
In my part of the world it is camping season. Spending time in nature. Campfires. S’mores. Hiking. Fishing. Boating. It is a real lifestyle choice, especially if activities in nature are important to you. Recent discussions have talked about a disconnect from nature. People are spending too much time on their devices – staring at a screen – than paying attention to what Mother Nature has to share with you. Where do you stand on that continuum?
From personal experience connecting with nature has a way of reducing stress. You don’t hear the sounds of the bustling city or keep up with a crazy schedule. Being in nature gives you time to utilize all of your senses. You SEE the beauty. You SMELL the trees. You HEAR the water of the rivers or brooks. You TOUCH the water, the trees, the rocks. You TASTE food made on a campfire. You disconnect from your regular life just long enough to enjoy your surroundings.
Lifestyle doesn’t have to be in a plane traveling somewhere. It can be as simple as a few hour drive from home, spending time with your loved ones, and having fun in nature.
My health and lifestyle recommendation today is to enjoy the great outdoors.
