Skin – the largest organ of your body
Do you ever wonder if what you put on your skin actually gets absorbed in to your body? The answer is yes. Think about it. Your skin is the largest organ of your body. Some medicine is administered via a skin patch so even the medical community agrees.
So what if you don’t need medicine. Do you put lotion on your skin? Do you use soap when you shower? These personal care products – we use over 30 different ones per day – get absorbed by your body as well. It would make sense that the skin care regimen you use also gets into your body. If the products contain ingredients that are harmful or carcinogenic then the products you use can also be harmful to the body.
And you thought you were doing your skin a favor. You should. Anti-aging and longevity are important to your skin as well. While looking good on the outside is important, feeling good on the inside is even better. In fact, I would argue that what you eat shows up on your skin/face.
How do you choose a better skin care product(s)? You look for ingredients that are not chemicals. Ingredients that are non-toxic. And you look for products that work according to science (the proof) and the people (the proof in the pudding). They exist and I will be sharing more with you about this topic in the very near future.
Good health and a happy lifestyle include feeling amazing, looking amazing, and living amazing.
