Choosing the right vitamins
So you are taking vitamins. Good for you. How did you choose the ones you are taking? Did you just walk in to a store, buy them, and start taking them. Most often people read about a particular vitamin and how it can improve your health without any further thought. You assume all vitamins are the same, right? They are not. There are three types of vitamins.
1. Test Tube or Synthetic
These are man-made vitamins. They are completely synthetic (think of a plastic lemon). Think of the typical drug store or big box store variety.
2. Natural Isolate or Organic Extract
These are unbalanced, heat processed, full of fillers and chemical laden vitamins. Heat processing kills any live nutrients that came in the raw materials. Think of a bottle of lemon juice extract. As an extract (organic or not), this type of vitamin just simply does not have the full benefits Mother Nature provided. You’ll find these most often at health food stores and certain nutrition companies.
These vitamins are balanced, of the highest quality of raw materials (no junk along for the ride), processed with low/no heat to keep the nutrients intact and active. More importantly they are bio-available which means your cells can utilize the vitamins. Finally, they are proven and published in the peer-reviewed research. Proven by science. Proven by people. Think of a real lemon. Very few vitamins fall in this category but as you can tell these are the ones you should be taking. I agree. I have taken natural vitamins my entire life.
