6 exercise tips for 2019
The New Year is here! I resolved to be more active and fit this year. Starting with a 7-day healthy cleanse followed by my Shaklee 180 Challenge. Six months to lose pounds and inches, feel better, and fall in love with the new me.
Combined with the nutrition is the need for movement aka: exercise. Here are some tips to create better habits around your exercise routine.
Schedule your workout or exercise in your planner. I use the calendar on my phone and set time to exercise just like I set an appointment. Blocking off about an hour. This serves as a reminder for those days when I really don’t feel like it.
Do you need inspiration to get your butt moving? I put together a play list that I can listen to while walking. Follow someone on social media who really inspires you.
It’s also important to have a positive attitude and practice gratitude. Writing in a journal daily (3-5 bullet points only unless you really like to write) is what I do. They serve as simple reminders that life is good.
20 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes. It doesn’t really matter. The important point is to make movement a part of your day.
Rewards. Who doesn’t like them? I do! I have rewards in place for when I reach my goals. Eating ice cream is NOT a reward. Just saying.
Clothes. Gear. Another reason to shop in my opinion. I have to have the right gear to exercise. Don’t you? This includes shoes. New clothes are a motivator to do more. Also important so I don’t injure myself, that I feel comfortable, and want to exercise again. That is the point.
Small steps are the key to getting started and keeping up the routine. When you reach your first goal step up the routine a notch. Reward yourself along the way. I’m cheering you on!
